Stock Market Today: Dow, S&P Live Updates for Feb. 21, 2022 – Bloomberg

European stocks fell Monday as investors believed that diplomacy can prevail in the increasingly volatile Russia-Ukraine conflict. U.S. equity futures also declined on a day that is the day of a celebration to Wall Street.

Losses on the Stoxx Europe index SXXP, +3.32% increased to 0.9 0.9% and the index was at 456 in the afternoon after a 1.9 percent drop in the previous week and the largest decline in the past week since late January. In the meantime, the German index DAX DAX +3.67% dropped 1percent and it was the FTSE 100 index UKX, +3.91% slipped 0.3 0.1% as did that of the French CAC PX1 40 PX1 +3.55 percent dropped 1.5 percent.

Wall Street trading will be closed on Monday due to trading on the Presidents Day holiday. However, Dow Jones Industrial Average YM00, +2.04%, S&P 500 ES00, +1.87% and Nasdaq 100 futures NQ00 +1.23 percentage were all down in red. It was the case after futures gained on late on Sunday and early Mondayon the hope of peace talks.
