Bengal was occupied by the British in 1757 later British Cabinet Mission of 1946 divided Bengal between India and Pakistan against Popular Demand of United Bengal . Bangladesh Gained Independence after 214 Years of foreign occupation in 1971 from Pakistan by a bloody Independence War  .  Bangladesh economy ranks 43rd in terms of nominal GDP and 29th in terms of purchasing power parity

History of Bangladesh

History of Bangladesh is also the History of Bengal. The advancement of civilization in Bengal dates back four millennia. Geographically, it is made up by the Ganges-Brahmaputra delta system . The term Vangala / bangal was often used to refer to the territory. The places are known to ancient Greek and Roman writers as having the same name as the river Ganges referred to as ‘Gangaridai’ . Vanga Kingdom is a 2000 BC Iron Age Kingdom in Ganges delta of South Asia. The Name Bengal or Bangla was originated from Vanga. The Bengali people are the descendants of the Vanga Kingdom.
