The area around the former Atlantic Steel mill has been turned into one of Atlanta’s most successful neighbourhoods. The 138 acres are home to retail shops, offices space for creative professionals as well an abundance of condos that offer residents easy access downtown via its own MARTA stop. Atlantic Station is a hip neighbourhood in Atlanta, Georgia with an eclectic mix of stores and restaurants. The area offers everything you need for your day to day life – shopping at one end or dining close by on the other.
The Millennium Gate, an $18 million arch intended to celebrate the peaceful accomplishment with special attention paid the Georgia’s rich history and people. The building is considered one of America’s finest classical monuments since completion of Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C., commissioned by National Monuments Foundation led by Rodney Cook Jr..
The initial concepts developed into their final architectural design which was then supervised by ADAM Architecture—Hugh Petter who also designed another well known landmark: The 555 World Trade Center Building – New York City skyline from 2004-2010.[22]
The primary access road to Atlantic Station is an extension of 17th Street that was constructed by the developers. As part of their project, they also built a yellow bridge over I-75/85 called “The Yellow Bridge” which separated Home Park from Midtown Atlanta neighbourhoods like Cumberland Island North Shore Estates and The Battery South Post Oak Estates
