Taobao Launches English-Language App Interface in Singapore, Enhancing Convenience for Local Shoppers

Singapore, Sept. 10, 2024 –  popular e-commerce platform Taobao has officially launched its first-ever English-language interface in Singapore, making online shopping more accessible to non-Chinese speakers. This new update, available from today, allows users to toggle between  familiar Taobao app and a fully English interface, reflecting  growing demand for more language options among Singaporean consumers. 

Singapore:  First Market to Experience  New Interface 

Singapore is  first market to experience this major update, alongside neighboring Malaysia.  introduction of  English interface is aimed at enhancing convenience for local users who previously relied on manual translations. With a seamless shopping experience, including Singapore Dollar (SGD) price conversions and AI-powered product descriptions,  English version of  app simplifies  product selection to checkout process.

Expanding Product Categories and Features 

At launch,  English version will feature a curated selection of trending products. Over time, this will expand to include a wide variety of categories that mirror  selection available on  Chinese interface.

How to Access English Interface

Existing users can log in using ir current credentials, and ir account details, such as order history and saved addresses, will automatically transfer to English version. However, orders placed before  update will still display in Chinese.
