Three New Judge Join Bangladesh Supream Court : Appellate Division


On October 8, 2018, Bangladesh President Mohammad Abdul Hamid appointed three senior judges of High Court to the Applet division of Bangladesh Supreme court.  As per the constitution, the judges join the respected Applet division of the Bangladesh Supreme court on 9 October.   The oath-taking ceremony was lead by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain at the Judges’ Lounge of the Supreme Court premises. 

Bangladesh Court appellate division is the final court of appeal of the country, it takes up appeals primarily against verdicts of the High Court Division and other courts and tribunals.

The Appointees Are 

  1. Justice Zinat Ara
  2. Justice Abu Bakar 
  3. Justice Md. Nuruzzaman


Justice Zinat Ara

Justice Zinat Ara Born in 1953, at the time of joining October 2018  in the appellate : She was 65 years old. From 1978 she has 39 years experience in the Government Judicial  

She is also Second appointed female Applet division Judge
in Bangladesh Supreme court

Justice Zinat Ara 
Obtained B.Sc. and LL.B. Joined the Judicial Service as Munsif on 1978 and promoted as District and Sessions Judge on 1995.
Elevated as Additional Judge of the High Court Division 2003 and appointed Judge of the same Division on Justice Zinat Ara had Certificate Course held at Harvard Law School, Cambridge, USA (1990),Participated in the International Seminars, Training Programmes, in Beijing and Shanghai, China (2001), USA, China, Argentina, Australia, Germany, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Panama, the Philippines, Taiwan, Srilanka and Thailand.



Justice Abu Bakar Siddiquee

Justice Abu Bakar Siddiquee Born in 1954 at the time of appointment He was 64 years From 1980 He 37 Years experience in Bangladesh Judicial  

Justice Abu Bakar Siddiquee Obtained B.Sc. and LL.B. from Rajshahi University. Enrolled as an Advocate of the Kushtia Bar Association in the year 1979.
Joined the Judicial Service as Munsif on 1980 and promoted as District and Sessions Judge on 1997.Elevated as Additional Judge of the High Court Division on 2009 and appointed Judge of the same Division on 2011.
Participated titled “Intellectual Property Right” organized by Japan International Co-operation Agency, in Tokyo, Japan. 


Justice Md. Nuruzzaman

Justice Md. Nuruzzaman Born in  at the time of the appellate he was 62 years old. He is a veteran freedom Participated in the Liberation War of Bangladesh 1971 and fought in Sunamgonj, Netrokona Kishoregonj Sub  

Justice Md. NuruzzamanObtained M.S.S. and LL.B. Enrolled as an Advocate of the District Court  in 1983 and the High Court Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court on 1987   Elevated as Additional Judge of the High Court Division on .2009 and appointed Judge of the same Division on  2011.
