2018 – Disaster in Bangladesh: Overview of Hazard Incidents

magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck around 7:15 am Epiccenter 30km from Kurigram. Lowest temperature was 2.6°C was in Panchagarh .
22 fire incidents took over 5 lives  . The Government distributed 932,460 pieces of blanket and 80,000 packets of dry food in 20 districts for cold wave affected poor people .

lightning occurred at 9 places that caused to death of 15 people.
Nor’wester was reported in 13 districts which caused to death of 8 people.
65 fire incidents were reported in 30 districts that caused to death of 14 people, Nepal Plane crash
caused to death of 51 people including 27 Bangladeshis.

In May, 2018 lightning occurred about 109 times which caused the death of 119 persons and seriously injured 37 persons. Nor’wester  took 7  lives.
The frequency of hazards are quite high in number and their impacts took lives of about 127 persons.
