The government is going to appoint RAB director general Benazir Ahmed Police as the new Inspector General (IG) of Bangladesh Police. The current head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun will be the Head of RAB. The government has decided to appoint Benazir Ahmed as the 5th IG of police
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved the summary at the Ganabhaban on Tuesday (April 7th). Sources in the Ministry of the Interior said the information. Home Ministry sources said in the cabinet meeting last Monday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed the minister and secretary to send a quick summary of the appointment of new IG before the expiry of the IG of the police.
Benazir Ahmed was the superintendent of police of Sardah Police Academy in 2001. He was the former Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.He was made the DG of RAB in December 2014 .
