History 

After Bangladesh became independent in 1971, relations between Yugoslavia and Bangladesh were formally established.  Citizens of Bangladesh need a visa to enter Serbia. There are no Serbian embassies or consulates in Bangladesh, but Bangladeshis can apply for a Serbian visa in New Delhi . The cabinet also approved a proposal to sign an agreement on visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders between the two countries. 

Trade and investment 

Bangladeshi pharmaceutical products, textile items, readymade garments and leather products have been identified as good potential products in the Serbian market.

Defense 

According to the Stockholm-based research institute SIPRI, in 2010-2015, Serbia was among the 11 countries from which Bangladesh bought arms. Bangladesh has procured light vehicles from Serbia.
